A
short story about the Green Mtn. Miata Club
In July 2000 Dave Silveira was looking for a Miata club to join
in Vermont. He contacted the once then Miata Club of America.
This was a national club with chapters in the USA, but not covering
all states. Vermont didn't have a club, but told Dave if he could
give them names of people willing to start a club they would support
by giving a list of Miata Club of America members names who live
in Vermont.
Dave as membership director and J.P. Aja as President the club
was formed. The first year the club had 65 members. Dave couldn't
pass a parked Miata without leaving a club application on their
windshield.
The clubs first event was a Fall 2000 Tour. Twelve Miatas drove
Rt. 100 South to RT. 125 East with a stop at the Wayberry Inn,
Middlebury for brunch.
And soo it began..
